AOP 5K Individual/Corporate Team Challenge and 1 Mile Fun Run on Oct. 2nd

Oregon - The 11th Annual Autumn on Parade 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run is set for Sunday, October 2nd. Spread the word and come join us for another spectacular run and then stick around town for the other activities offered by the Autumn on Parade Festival and Parade.

One-mile runners will begin the day at 8 am followed by the 5K participants at approximately 8:30 am. Registration for 1 Mile Fun Run is $10. Please register by September 16th to be guaranteed a shirt.

As for the 5K, all the same amenities that race goers have come to love will be available again such as music, premium long sleeve tech shirts, post race food, shower facilities, awards to 1st/2nd/3rd in 16 different age groups, overall awards, USATF certified course, chip timing by Real Timing, Inc., photography by Chelsea Marie Photography, and post race massages provided by Alpine Chiropractic and Natural Medicine, PC. 5K course is the same as last year and a print out of the course can be found at www.autumnonparade.org under the 5K page (will be recertified spring 2016). Strollers will be allowed on the race course but must start after all runners. No pets, bicycles, or scooters allowed on the course. Start of the race is located near the entry of Oregon Park West (off 10th Street and Jefferson St). The only entry and exit for parking is off of 10th Street behind the high school for the safety of the walkers/runners.

Back again this year is the 5K Corporate Team Challenge so grab your co-workers, friends, or family and sign up. Teams can be a minimum of 4/maximum of 15 per team. The top four race times for each team are added together and the fastest team wins a first place plaque.

Participants may use one of three registration options to sign up for the event: online, mail in form, or race day. New for 2016, we are a 2016 RRR Circuit Race so RRR and Rockford Wildcat members receive a 10% discount if pre-registered as follows. Pre-registration by mail will be offered for forms received by September 23rd for a fee of $20 for 5K individual and $18/registrant for 5K Corporate Challenge. Mail-in forms will be available no later than mid July. You may also register online at Runsignup.com by September 26th (direct link will be posted at a later date to our website). Teams may also register online by setting up their team name and password online for all members to register. Mail in forms received after Sept. 23rd thru race day registration (6:45 am-7:45 am) will have a fee increase to $25 for 5K individual and $25/registrant for 5K Corporate Challenge. There will be an availability to register at the early packet pickup (date/time TBD) at the Oregon Coliseum and on race day. No late registrations will be taken after 7:45 am on race day so please arrive early to accommodate long lines.

Premium long sleeve t-shirts are only guaranteed to the first 300 pre-registered participants and sizes will be on a first come/first served basis. For pre-registered participants, packet pickup will be available on two separate days. Date/Time TBD at the Oregon Coliseum (No Saturday pick up) and on race day from 6:30am- 7:45 am.

Looking forward to seeing you in 2016! Like us on Facebook “Autumn on Parade 5K”. Please check our FB page for updates/changes. Questions about the race you may call (815)601-3093 or email AOP5krun@gmail.com ››

OPPORTUNITY TO GIVE BACK
Runners/walkers know how important it is to have good athletic shoes so we are asking for your help. New this year we will be holding a shoe drive to benefit the Oregon Elementary PE kids. You would be surprised at the number of kids that don't have good athletic shoes to keep at school for PE classes. We are asking for new to gently used athletic shoes in youth sizes 12-5. A donation box will be available at early packet pickup and at the packet pickup on race day.
