Autumn on Parade 5k – Growing A New Tradition!


The 7th annual Autumn on Parade 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run is set to start on Sunday, Oct. 6, at 8 a.m. and a new "Corporate Challenge" element has been added.
One-mile runners will take to the starting line first followed by the 5K participants at 8:30 a.m. The 1 Mile Fun Run course will run the perimeter of the high school starting at Jefferson and Hawk Drive to 10th Street to Adams and back to Hawk Drive to the finish line. Every finisher in the one mile race will receive a participant ribbon with finishing times and places to be posted on the internet after the race.
As for the 5K, all of the same amenities that race goers have come to love will be available again for the Autumn on Parade 5k, music, premium t-shirts, professional timing, good food, awards to overall male/female finisher and top three male/female finishers in each age bracket. Participants will navigate towards the downtown festival to start with and then run the middle section through the park with a finish on the Oregon high school track. 5K participants may use one of three registration options to sign up for the event.
New this year, is the "The Corporate Challenge" where participants can enter as a team of four or more. The top four times are added togerther and the fastest team wins.
- Pre-registration by mail will be offered for forms postmarked by Sept. 30, for a fee of $20.
- All one mile participants who pre-register will participate for FREE. Make checks payable to Autumn on Parade and mail to: Autumn on Parade 5K Run/Walk, P.O. Box 234, Oregon, IL 61061.
- Online registration through PreRace.com is available through Sept. 30. There will be a minimal registration charge for utilizing the online services.
- The first 250 registered participants for the 5K are guaranteed a long sleeve race t-shirt.
- Race day registration will be offered for a fee of $25 (or $5 for the 1 mile) from 6:45 a.m. to 8 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 2, at the Blackhawk Center at Oregon High School, 201 S. 10th Street, Oregon, IL 61061.
- No refunds.
- Participant packets may be picked up at the Blackhawk Center on Race Day between 6:45 a.m. - 7:55 a.m. Race day registered t-shirts are handed out on a first come, first serve basis.
- Early packet pickup for pre-registered participants will be available on Saturday, Oct. 1 at the Oregon Coliseum from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Awards will be presented after the race to top overall male and female finisher and the first three male and female finishers in each of the following age categories:
- 14 & under
- 15-19
- 20-24
- 25-29
- 30-34
- 35-39
- 40-44
- 45-49
- 50-54
- 55-59
- 60-64
- 65-69
- 70-74
- 75-79
- 80 and over.
Results will be posted online. Awards will be presented approximately one hour after the start of the race.
- Plenty of parking is available at Oregon High School and the Blackhawk Center. Strollers will be allowed on the race course but must start after all runners. No pets, bicycles or scooters will be allowed on the course.
- Oregon High School and the Blackhawk Center are located just off of Ill. 64 and 10th Street.
